As a therapist I follow a Person-Centered Approach to counseling. I believe the best treatment plans are those created tailored to each individual client's needs. Similarly in group therapy I believe each group is different and each group experience should be tailored to what the specific group needs. I pride myself on being versatile and able to work with any and all cultures and ethnic groups. Each client presents different ideologies, different beliefs, different problems, different mental states, and differing experiences; to properly counsel or help a client you have to meet them where they are at and create an effective plan according to their needs and wants. This requires flexibility and a non-rigid mindset to properly counsel each client and using different tools and techniques dependent on the client's specific situation and temperament.

I am currently a student in the Mental Health Counseling Program at NYIT. I started my Mental Health Counseling journey because I wanted to help as many people as I could when I was younger. So when I decided that I wanted to become a doctor but after chemistry class, I decided to reevaluate my decision. I still wanted to help people and be a part of the health field and after taking Psychology 101 in my first year of college I decided that I want to become a Mental Health Counselor. Also being a part of the South Asian community mental health and therapy are rarely discussed. I wish to bring attention to the importance of discussing the mental health and well-being of a person. I am here for the clients and I will try to help the client achieve the goal they set out for themself.
